Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The direct route from Bergamo Airport to Nendaz (334km) will usually take you via routes A4/E64 and E25. Move through SP116 and Via Aeroporto to SS671 (Bergamo). On A4/E64 and E25 routes move towards E27 (Quart). From E25 turn to the exit Aosta Est. Take the SS27, T2 and E27 towards Road Nr.21 (Martigny-Combe, Svizra). On A9/E62 move in the direction of Bretelle Autoroute. From A9/E62 turn to exit 25-Conthey. On Route des Eterpys, Route des Ecussons, and Route de Nendaz move towards your end destination (Nendaz). Sometimes this route may be closed in case of heavy snow.

An alternative route will take you via route E62 (300km). Move through SP116 and Via Aeroporto to SS671 (Bergamo). Move on A4/E64, A8 and E62 towards SS33 (Mergozzo). Continue to your destination (Ried-Brig, Svizra). Continue on A9. Take the Eyholztunnel, Kantonsstrasse/Road № 9, and A9 towards your destination (Sion). From A9 turn to the exit 27-Sion-est. By Route de Chippis, Route de Nendaz, Chardonnay, Le Coudray and Route de Nendaz head to your destination (Nendaz).

What to Do En-Route

If you want to stretch your legs or get some refreshments, our friendly drivers will happily accommodate this. Ask your driver for a shortstop (up to 10 minutes).

There are some supermarkets en-route to Nendaz. You can find everything there: snacks, food and your ski holiday essentials.  You may find products bought on the way to ski resort are cheaper than those found in the resort itself. Please note that all shop visits should be pre-booked with Customer Support prior to your arrival.

You can enjoy incredible views during your trip to Nendaz. There are a lot of beautiful places, which you should capture. Make sure you have your camera ready.

 

Journey Altitude

It’s important to know that your journey from Bergamo Airport to Nendaz will take you to extremely high altitude. This may present its own potential complications.

Bergamo Airport is located at an altitude of 238 meters, while the resort of Nendaz lies at an elevation of 1,400m. This journey can present some passengers with mild discomfort. Nausea, headaches and dizziness can be symptoms of the change in air pressure. Young children also are the ones at risk of feeling unwell.

As a result of the combination between steep, serpentine roads and such air pressure, the journey can be difficult. If needed, ask your driver to lower the temperature in the vehicle to help you feel more comfortable.

Nendaz Ski Resort

Nendaz is located in the heart of one of the biggest ski domains in Europe - 4 Valleys. The 4 Valleys ski area includes 8 ski resorts of Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz, Verbier, Bruson. Evolene, Nendaz, Siviez and Thyon les Collons. Nendaz ski resort is nestled between Verbier and Veysonnaz ski areas and is only 8km down the mountain from the resorts of Siviez and Thyon.

Being part of the 4 Valleys ski region, Nendaz ski area offers you the access to 412km of downhill skiing, with 205 individual pistes, served by 92 ski lifts and the famous slope “Piste de l`Ours”.  With the appropriate ski Lift Pass, you will be able to ski or snowboard in the other 4 Valleys ski resorts of Bruson, Evolene, La Tzoumaz, Siviez, Thyon les Collons, Verbier and Veysonnaz. Nendaz ski resort is directly linked by Ski Lift to the ski areas of Siviez. Also, Nendaz has the fastest access to the unquestioned highlight of the 4 Valleys ski area - Mont-Fort. At 3330m, this is the highest point of the area with incredible views of over 20 peaks including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.
