Chamonix Transfers

Each ski area in the Chamonix valley has different lift opening dates for winter and summer. Lifts typically run from 09:00 to 16:30 in the winter season. Aiguille du Midi and Montenvers are open year-round, with periodic maintenance breaks.

We recommend March and April for great spring skiing and quieter slopes. Late November can occasionally offer early skiing. January is often snowy but you’ll need to wrap up warm. Christmas and New Year are magical if you don’t mind the crowded lifts. Avoid school holidays in February when the slopes can be busy.

Absolutely. Chamonix is a year-round mountain destination with plenty to do in the summer months. The resort is a bustling town all year round with many shops, bars, restaurants, and cafes open even in spring and autumn.

There are two main lift passes: Chamonix Le Pass and Mont-Blanc Unlimited (MBU). Chamonix Le Pass covers Brevent, Flegere, Balme, Grands Montets, and beginner areas. MBU adds Les Houches, Mer de Glace Montenvers, Aiguille du Midi, and Tramway Mont Blanc, plus access to Courmayeur and Verbier with longer passes. Yes, there are two daily return journeys from Chamonix Sud bus station. You’ll need a Mont Blanc Unlimited pass for access to the slopes. But if you’re after more flexible timings and convenient drop-offs, then a private transfer with Alps2Alps is perfect for groups looking to travel from Chamonix to Courmayeur.

You can book lessons with ESF (Ecole de Ski Française) or independent ski schools like Evolution 2. Online booking is available for group and private lessons. Remember to book early for peak periods.

Yes there is. The Chamonix tourist office is in Place du Triangle de l’Amitié, next to the main church, town hall, and ski school office. It’s open daily during high season.
