La Plagne Bellecote Resort & Transfer Guide

Opened in 1974, this modern ski resort was designed as a giant dam and is the crossing point for a lot of pistes. La Plagne Bellecote also is the starting point for the Bellecote glacier. La Plagne is nestled in the Tarantaise valley and consists of 11 separate villages. Besides being part of the La Plagne ski area, La Plagne Bellecote also shares the largest ski area in Europe -The Paradiski ski area. La Plagne ski area is linked up with Les Arcs by the world’s largest cable car.  The impressive double-decker Vanoise Express will get you to the neighbouring Les Arcs in just 4 minutes!

 

Ski Resort Location

La Plagne Bellecote is located at the center of La Plagne ski area, Savoie region of the French Alps.You can get the free bus from La Plagne Bellecote to La Plagne Centre or La Plagne 1800. La Plagne Bellecote is housing the resort's Freestyle stadium, a skating rink and outdoor heated swimmimg pool (ski pass holders can use it for free). La Plagne Bellecote has many other different activities such as: snowpark, half pipe, snowshoeing, winter hiking, dogsledding and lighted night skiing.

Called as La Plagne’s “DAM”, the accommodation in La Plagne Bellecote consists of two large wooden modern holiday apartment complexes, which are built in the shape of a large wave. A giant U-shape apartment blocks rise up like a wall at the bottom of the piste. All the apartments are facing the mountains and the slopes, and have the direct access to ski lifts. Besides great ski access, the resort has to offer multiple restaurants, cafes, bars, a nightclub, a cinema and a sports centre.

Closest Train Stations to La Plagne Bellecote

Although there is no train station in La Plagne, the closest train station is in Aime la Plagne, which is only 3,2 kilometres and around 6 minutes drive from La Plagne Bellecote. There are a total of 128 pistes in the immediate vicinity of the resort, served by 109 ski lifts. Around 40% of the slopes are ideal for beginners, 50% serve the needs of intermediates and the remaining 10% are for experts.

There is an excellent nursery for younger children who do not ski 'Jardin de Neige', which takes children starting from the age of 2 to 6 years. The natural ice-rink is located just above the La Plagne Bellecote cable car. A part of the ice rink is reserved for beginners and all kids are welcomed ( starting from 3 years old).
