Tignes skiing: an overview
Tignes is part of one of the world’s largest ski areas, with diverse runs for all levels. Beginners, start your journey in Tignes Le Lac or Val Claret, with ski schools providing lessons for all. Intermediate skiers should hit the extensive network of red runs in Tignes and Val d’Isère.
There hoards of black runs and off-piste routes for expert skiers, including the Sache run in Les Brévières and Vallon de la Sache providing some of the Alps’ best powder. If you’re looking for a thrill, the long descents from the Grande Motte glacier get the blood pumping.

If you’re a culture buff, there are regular art exhibitions and live performances throughout the season. Of if you truly want to relax, Lagon aqua has a sauna and offers spa treatments, or you can even kick back and watch a film at the local cinema.
Family-friendly and kids’ fun in Tignes
Tignes is a fantastic family hotspot, offering a wide range of activities for kids of all ages. The ESF ski school in Tignes is one of the Alps’ best, with experienced instructors with full programs or private lessons. For your non-skiing fix, kids can enjoy ice skating, sledging, and the unique ‘Snake Gliss,’ a tobogganing adventure that’s always a hit. The Lagon aqua is also a family favourite, with pools, slides, and play areas.
