Covid restrictions in France are being lifted with caution

France has had some of the most stringent Covid-19 restrictions in the world.

President Macron had been cautiously easing restrictions in the country after going into lockdown for a third time, and many measures have been lifted. While the discovery of the new variant led to some being brought back in, restrictions are now being eased once again.

As of February 12, fully vaccinated travelers aged 12 and over can visit France provided they provide proof of vaccination and complete a sworn statement declaring that they are not suffering from any Covid-19 symptoms and haven't been in contact with any confirmed cases in the 14 days prior to travel.

However, the rules have since changed on who qualifies as fully vaccinated.

Visitors from the UK aged 18 or over who had their second Covid-19 vaccination administered over nine months ago and have not had a booster jab will no longer be considered as fully vaccinated, and must follow the same rules as unvaccinated travelers, according to an update on the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office website.

However, the requirements for the pass have since changed, with negative PCR tests or proof of recent recovery from the virus no longer valid. Now, only proof of vaccination will be accepted for those aged 16 and over.

Masks or face coverings will no longer be required indoors from March 14. However, they will still be mandatory on public transport.

As of March 14, a vaccine pass will not be required to enter indoor venues, aside from hospitals and care homes.

Alps2Alps COVID-19 safety measures for our ski services:

Regular vehicle disinfection

Alps2Alps only offers private ski transfers, meaning the vehicle is reserved for your party, so our rides are already far more COVID secure than public transport.

We take our responsibilities of keeping our customers as safe as possible very seriously. We disinfect all surfaces in the vehicle, including the luggage compartment, after every transfer. Once a day, we complete another more thorough disinfection of the car, including its ventilation system.

Monitor the health of our drivers

Sometimes our drivers meet up to 20 customers a day, so we prioritise monitoring their health for theirs and your safety.

We check our driver's body temperature several times a day. If we have any suspicions about their health we will change your transfer car immediately; this is only possible due to our impressive fleet of vehicles and the number of professional drivers we employ.

Safety measures at our ski hire shops

Ski Rental Skis
Ski Rental Equipment

Social distancing is a vital safety measure for limiting the spread of COVID-19.

Our ski rental shops are far less busy than crowded rentals on the slopes, giving us more freedom to operate social distancing guidelines in our shops, even during peak season. Our Albertville ski rental shop has a dedicated waiting zone that helps to keep a safe distance between all of our customers.

Our drivers have a logistics and communication system in their vehicles that will divert them to the Albertville or Geneva ski rental shop, depending on which is the least busy and also more convenient for your journey.

Plus, using our Alps2Alps ski rental service means you don't have to return at the end of your trip to drop off your skis, return your ski equipment to your driver and head straight for the airport!

Although COVID-19 is difficult to pick up from surfaces, we are sure to thoroughly disinfect all returned ski equipment, as well as all of the surfaces in our shops.

Secure ski delivery service in French Alps

Line

Despite all of the safety measures in our ski rental shops, we understand that some customers would still prefer to avoid any premises with multiple groups of people. That's why we're offering the safest type of ski rental in the Alps - Ski Delivery!

Our COVID-safe delivery service allows you to: 1. Place a ski rental order on our website 2. We will deliver the skis directly to your hotel or chalet 3. Avoid any ski rental shops

Alps2Alps ski delivery is undoubtedly the safest way to rent skis; check our ski rental offers here.

Planning your ski holiday should be calm and enjoyable, so we want to put your mind at ease. Our Alps2Alps team is operating as usual, and we have used this time to improve our services, upgrade our offerings and prepare for the upcoming ski season.

Flying during COVID-19

While your flight is out of control, we would like to put your mind at ease with some information about passenger planes.

Modern aeroplanes have sophisticated air filter systems that catch 99.99% of particles, including bacteria and viruses such as coronavirus. Cabin air is regularly replaced with fresh air from outside, approximately every two to three minutes, so flying is still a safe travel option during COVID-19 and the risk of catching an infection on an aircraft is low.

There are some measures that you can take to reduce your risk when travelling:

  • Book your tickets and check-in online to minimize contact at the airport;
  • Respect social distancing during luggage drop-off, security checks, boarding and baggage claim;
  • Wear a mask and clean your hands.

Airlines regularly update current guidelines on travel restrictions and will have further information on their cancellation policies:
