An alternative route goes like the first one at the beginning, then, it turns right to south through German Brannenburg till Kiefersfelden along the river Inn. And finally, this route passes through Austrian Oberndorf in Tyrol southern and then straight to east till Kaprun.

Both routes are approximately the same by the time you spend on the road. Anyway, all tourists should remember to choose the preferable way according to the current road situation and weather/snow forecast.
