Les Menuires is located in the Bellevile valley a few kilometres from Val Thorens at an altitude of 1850 meters and is connected by a network of ski lifts to the resorts of Val Thorens, Meribel, La Tania and Courchevel.

Les Menuires began to be created as a ski resort in the 1950s. Officially it was opened in 1965, and in 1967 here was built the first residential area of Le Cruzetta, which today is the center of the resort.
