Morillon ski resort is one of five linked resorts (Morillon, Flaine, Samoens, Les Carroz, Sixt Fer à Cheval), that make up the vast Grand Massif ski area. Being nestled at the heart of a preserved and welcoming nature, the ski resort of Morillon is divided into two sites connected by a cable car. This beautiful traditional village with its wooden houses and chalet-style residences is built around the ancient church of Saint Christophe. Ski Resort Location

Morillon is located in the Giffre Valley in the Haute Savoie region of the Northern French Alps. This pretty and friendly ski resort is situated between Morzine (Portes du Soleil), Genève (Suisse) and Chamonix (Pays du Mont Blanc).

Morillon is famous not only for its ski area. Downhill Olympic champion Antoine Deneriaz is a local hero - he grew up in Morillon and won gold in the 2006 Turin Olympics.

Ski Resort Essentials

The resort of Morillon lies at an elevation of 1,100m, with a max vertical of 1,800m and its highest lift going as far as 2,500m. There are a total of 15 pistes in the immediate vicinity of the resort, served by 8 ski lifts. Around 15% of the slopes are ideal for beginners, 60% serve the needs of intermediates, 20% are for advanced users and the remaining 5% are far more challenging.

Morillon is part of the Grand Massif ski area with access to 265km of downhill skiing, with 351 marked pistes, served by a total of 78 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Morillon itself (85 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Grand Massif ski resorts of Flaine, Les Carroz, Samoens and Sixt Fer a Cheval.

Family Friendly/Kids

Morillon is a pretty and charming family-friendly village. The resort is an ideal ski resort for families, its village centre is pedestrianized and nursery slopes are centrally located. There is a children's snow park and the ski schools are very child-friendly. The local Ski School teaches all levels of skier from three years old.
