There is an alternative route, which is a little longer than the previous one. At first, it goes to the north from Zurich in the direction to Neuenhof/Baden. Then, continue driving on A1, follow signs for Bern/Aarau/ Magenwil. Leaving behind Bern, you should drive on the south. Pass Thun and continue your way alongshore Thunersee lake till Interlaken. Then you have to turn right onto Gsteigstrasse (signs for Wilderswil/Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen). Follow this way until you get to Wengen.
