Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The standard route from Bergamo Airport to Les Arcs 1600 (444km) will usually take you via route A4/E64. Move through SP116 and Via Aeroporto move to SS671 (Bergamo). Move on A4/E64, E70, A43 and N90 towards D87 (La Plagne-Tarentaise, France). On the routes D220 and D119 head to your destination (Bourg-Saint-Maurice).  All the Les Arcs stations are signed from this road.  Always ask the driver about the best possible route.

 

What to Do En-Route

If you want to stop at any stage of the trip to get up and walk around to stretch your legs, our drivers will happily accommodate this. Ask your driver for a shortstop (up to 10 minutes) - that will help you stay comfortable during the long trip.

There are many supermarkets en-route to Les Arcs 1600. If you are feeling hungry on your way to the ski resort, you are welcome to choose a few snacks for the journey. You may find that products bought on the way are cheaper than those found in the resort itself. Maybe that is better to get your travel essentials before your arrival at your destination. All shop visits should be pre-booked with Customer Support prior to your arrival.

Journey Altitude

Don’t forget that your journey from Bergamo Airport to Les Arcs 1600 will take you to a very high altitude. When you are travelling at high altitudes, it’s important to know that this can present some passengers with mild discomfort.

Les Arcs 1600 is referred to as “Arc Pierre Blanche”. Les Arcs 1600 was the first area of the Les Arcs ski resorts to be built in 1968. The ski resort is the lowest of the three resort areas and has a direct link to Bourg St Maurice Train Station by the funicular railway “Arc en Ciel”.

Together with other resorts of Les Arcs 1800, 1950 & 2000, it makes up a major part of the Paradiski ski area which also includes the resorts of La Plagne and Peisey-Vallandry. Paradiski Area ski-passes allow you access to the resorts of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and neighbouring La Plagne. Your ski pass will give you the unlimited access to 425kms of piste, 144 lifts and 2 glaciers.
