Transfers from Geneva Airport to La Rosiere

Ski transfers from Geneva to La Rosiere will take around 3 hours and 10 minutes though this may get longer due to traffic jams. La Rosiere is one of the top ski destinations in France. If travelling at high season, you can expect longer queues and high waiting time.

Alps2Alps will always make sure that you are comfortable and safe for the duration of your airport transfer. We highly recommend travelling midweek to cut down on your journey time and have as much time on the slopes as possible.

Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The standard route from Geneva Airport to La Rosiere (209km) will usually take you via routes A41 and N90. Through Route de Pré-Bois and Route de Vernier move to A1/E25/E62 (Vernier). Move on A41, A43/E70, A430 and N90 towards D1090 (Bourg-Saint-Maurice, France). Keep moving on D1090 towards your end destination (Montvalezan). Always ask the driver about the best possible route. If there is bad weather or snow, simply add extra time for your transfer.

What to Do En-Route

A long drive can sometimes be really hard because you have to stay seated for a long period of time. You can ask your driver for a shortstop at any stage of the trip (up to 10 minutes). You can go outside, breathe in some fresh air or have a cup of tea.

There are some supermarkets on your way to La Rosiere. If you will get hungry on the way to the resort, you can choose there a few snacks for the journey or buy your much-needed travel essentials. Usually, prices in supermarkets en-route are cheaper than in most of the ski resorts. Please note that all shop visits should be pre-booked with Customer Support prior to your arrival.

La Rosiere is located near incredible Mont-Blanc and Vanoise mountain ranges. You will enjoy the spectacular panoramas during your airport transfer.  Don’t forget to get your camera open and ready to shoot!

Renting skis? Don’t wait until you get to the resort, pick these up on your way.  Alps2Alps have ski rental shop near Albertville, on your way from Geneva airport. You will find more information about our ski rental offerings later.

Journey Altitude

It’s important to understand that your journey from Geneva Airport to La Rosiere 1850 will take you to a very high altitude. This can present its own potential complications if you are not used to it.

Geneva airport sits at 430m, while La Rosiere ski resort sits at an altitude of 1,850m. Some passengers can experience mild discomforts, such as nausea, headaches and dizziness. That can be symptoms of the change in altitude. Young children are often those who are at risk of feeling unwell.

As a result of the combination between such air pressure and steep, serpentine roads, the journey can be difficult. In this situation, ask your driver to lower the temperature in the vehicle to help you feel more comfortable.

The breathtaking landscapes of the magical Tarentaise Valley, during your way to La Rosiere, can act as a great medicine for you if you will feel unwell.

La Rosiere Ski Resort

La Rosiere is a purpose-built ski resort with outstanding sun exposure and sunny slopes. This small ski resort with authentic charm and typical Savoyard architecture has been lift linked to the nearby ski resort of La Thuile over the mountain border in Italy. Developed in 1961, the ski resort is divided into two areas - La Rosière and Les Eucherts, which are connected by a short bus ride.

The ski resort of La Rosiere is part of the Italian Espace San Bernardino ski area with its 160km of downhill skiing, with 77 individual pistes, served by 37 ski lifts. La Rosière is one of only two ski resorts in France with a ski–lift connection over the border to Italy. In addition to the skiing in La Rosière itself (35 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Espace San Bernardo ski resort of La Thuile.

La Rosière is a perfect ski destination for families, it is the proud holder of a Family Plus classification. Outdoor facilities include tobogganing, snowshoe hiking, dog sledding, paragliding, and snowkiting.
