This route starts on the motorway (that is a shorter way, motorway route is 40km longer), heading towards Annecy /Albertville than continuing down the motorway towards Chambery. This journey is quicker, with less traffic and offers you fantastic views.
A second option would be to use the motorway via Chambery if there are extreme weather cases. That is more time consuming and also be aware of major traffic during the weekends. Always ask the driver about the best possible route.
A third option is La Clusaz route but we don’t recommend it. The road goes thru mountains and that is not the best option.
