Grenoble Airport to Les Menuires Transfers

Getting from Grenoble to Les Menuires  (situated in the Three Valleys) needn’t be a chore this ski season. If you’re lucky enough to be spending some time on the slopes in this famous French ski resort make sure you can rely on your transfer provider to get you there quickly and comfortably to maximise your holiday time.

Here’s everything you need to know about your journey, including travel times, route options and reasons why you should trust Alps2Alps as your transfer provider.

Transfers from Grenoble to Les Menuires

The journey from Grenoble to Les Menuires usually takes around two and a half hours, although this depends on traffic, weather, and road conditions.Les Menuires is one of the most famous parts of the 3 Valleys ski area, so during weekends and peak season, you should expect journey times to be increased due to heavy traffic.

At Alps2Alps we always make sure we do everything we can to make your safety and comfort our top priorities during your trip. For those looking to make the most of the slopes, we recommend travelling between Tuesday and Thursday as ski resorts and traffic tend to be quieter mid-week.

Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The trip from Grenoble to Les Menuires will usually take you via the A43 to Albertville, the N90 to Moutiers, and then the D117 up to Les Menuires.

Of heavy traffic or adverse weather conditions, your driver may take an alternate route to get you to the resort as quickly as possible.

What to Do En-Route

Although you'll probably be anxious to get on the slopes as soon as possible, there are a few things you might want to consider doing en-route. We’re happy to accommodate any stops you wish to make along the way, whether it's stopping for supplies or just getting out and stretching your legs.

There are a few supermarkets en-route, and supplies are often cheaper there than at the resort. If you want to stock up on food and drink, need to pick up a toothbrush or some other forgotten travel item, or just want a quick snack for the trip, then this could be a good opportunity to save a bit of money.

If you need to rent skis, Alps2Alps have a ski rental shop on the way from the airport. If you’re looking to arrive fully equipped and avoid queuing at the resort, then we can assist you; see the Ski Rental section for more information on what's available.

Finally, make sure you keep your camera at the ready for some stunning views of the 3 Valleys as you approach the resort(and make your friends back home extremely jealous!).

Journey Altitude

Your journey will involve travelling to high altitudes which can be difficult for some visitors.

With Grenoble Airport at an altitude of almost 400m and Les Menuires at 1,850m, the change in altitude and the winding roads during the journey can result in mild discomfort, nausea, headaches, and dizziness for some people, particularly in young children. If you need to recline your seat, lower the temperature, or stop to get a bit of fresh air, simply ask your driver; they’ll always be happy to help.

If you are feeling unwell, though, the beautiful mountain scenery of the 3 Valleys can be the perfect medicine to make you feel better! So get your camera out and distract yourself with some stunning views to take your mind off your discomfort.

The Ski Resort

Les Menuires offers “ski from the doorstep” access to the biggest linked ski area in the world.  Nestled in the heart of the 3 Valleys ski area, the Savoyard resort of Les Menuires is listed as “Family Plus”, offering an endless variety of activities for winter sports enthusiasts., The resort is equipped with runs for all levels and areas, with some designed specifically for children and beginners.
