It’s important to know that your journey from Lyon to Tignes will take you to a very high altitude. This could cause problems for some visitors.
Lyon airport sits at an altitude around 200m, while the main village of Tignes is at 2100 m. This rise in altitude results in a change in air pressure, causing nausea, headaches and dizziness in some passengers. Young children are especially prone to these symptoms.
Due to the combination of steep, serpentine roads and the change in air pressure, the journey can become difficult for some people. If needed, ask your driver to lower the temperature in the vehicle to help you feel more comfortable.

At Alps2Alps, we aim to offer safe, reliable and affordable airport transfers to all ski destinations in the Alps. For this reason, we like to take a transparent approach to our pricing structure. We take a number of factors into consideration when calculating our quotes, which include:
The number of people travelling
The day and time you travel
Any available discounts
When calculating fares, we start with our standard price and then reduced based on the factors mentioned above. This dynamic approach means we only ever reduce our prices – never increase them.
The transfer price is also affected by vehicle availability, transfer schedule, vehicle utilisation and additional costs, such as road tolls and parking charges.
If you want to lower the costs, avoid crowds and spend less time stuck in traffic, we strongly recommend you travelling midweek. A midweek transfer can cut your costs by up to 60%. Discounts also tend to be available for travelling off-season and off-peak. Travelling during off-peak season always means better deals, cheaper flights and hotels.
Alps2Alps also offers low-cost ski rentals. We have a rental store in Albertville, which is situated an hour and 30 minutes away from Lyon Airport. We can pick you up from the airport and take you to the rental store to have your equipment fitted before continuing your journey to the resort.
