Here are some tips for effective ski trip planning that’ll guarantee you more time on the slopes

Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The most convenient route takes you through Munich- Wolfratshausen- Germering- Wolfratshausen- Garmisch Partenkirchen- Biberwier- Gemeinde Imst- Landeck to reach St. Anton.

In the case of bad road congestion, a second option is to take the Munich Airport- Munich centre- Wolfratshausen- Garmisch Partenkirchen- Scharnitz- Zirl- Silz- Brennbichl- Landeck- St. Anton route.

The third possible route would have a similar journey time as the second (3 hours 20 minutes) but this route would bring you through Munich Airport- Feldkirchen- Hohenbrunn- Brunnthal- Irschenberg- Brannenburg- Kiefersfelden- Kufstein- Jenbach- Innsbruck- Telfs- Silz- Brennbichl- Landeck- St. Anton. There might be roadworks around Kiefersfelden at peak season and some delays may be expected.

At the height of the ski season when roads are at their busiest, it may be worth taking a slightly longer route to avoid traffic.

Our professional and experienced drivers will take all factors into consideration when planning your transfer journey to ensure you spend minimal time on the road.

What to Do En-Route

If at any time you want to pause and stretch your legs, our drivers will happily accommodate.

Keen to stock up on essentials en-route? There are plenty of supermarkets on the way, often cheaper than the ones you’ll find in the resort village. Pick up anything you missed when packing on the way so you can head straight to the slopes when you arrive.

The journey to your resort could be a good chance to read up on the local area. A little bit of research will help you make the most of your ski trip. Or alternatively, ask our knowledgeable drivers!

A good drive is a great way to take in some stunning alpine scenery. Take some snaps, or simply relax and watch the world go by.

Travelling at Altitude

Travelling at high altitudes can really affect how you’re feeling. Although completely safe, high altitude can make some people (especially children) feel unwell.

As this transfer is taking you to a mountain resort, you’ll experience rising altitude throughout the journey. Munich airport sits at 519 metres, while St. Anton ski resort reaches heights of 1304 metres above sea level!

This high altitude is great for skiers, but can cause a little discomfort until you get used to it. Symptoms include nausea, dizziness, weakness and headaches. Of course, symptoms vary between individuals.

Don’t hesitate to ask our friendly drivers if you want to stop or change the temperature in the vehicle to make yourself more comfortable.

Munich Airport Transfers (MUC)

Munich Airport is the second largest airport in Germany, therefore it’s busy all year long and gets even busier during ski season!

Easy connections to some top quality ski resorts make Munich International Airport a popular launching point for skiers heading to the mountains. For this reason, we recommend booking your Alps2Alps ski transfer in advance to access the best deals.

The airport is a 45 minute drive into the city centre. Getting to Munich city centre from the airport by public transport is possible. There’s an express train and a bus stop at terminal 1 and terminal 2. However, for a more comfortable journey, we recommend booking a private transfer to the resort.

You could avoid this issue altogether by opting to leave your skis at our handy ski depot. Drop your skis off with the Alps2Alps ski storage service and we’ll keep them safe for you, ready for your next trip.
