Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The direct route from Salzburg to Lech (271 km) will usually take you via route A12. Head on B21 and B178 towards E641 (Kirchbichl). Take A12 and head on towards Arlbergstraße/B197 (Sankt Anton am Arlberg). From S16 turn to exit St.Anton. Take B197 and Lechtal Str./B198 to your end destination (Lech).

Always ask the driver about the best possible way to get to the resort. If there is bad weather or snow, you should plan extra time for your transfer.

What to Do En-Route

If you want to stop at any stage of the trip to get up and walk around to stretch your legs or get a few minutes in the fresh air, we will happily accommodate this. Ask your driver for a short stop (up to 10 minutes) - that will help you stay comfortable during the long trip.

There are many supermarkets en-route to Lech. If you are feeling hungry on your way to the ski resort, you are welcome to choose a few snacks for the journey. Journey Altitude

When travelling at high altitudes, it’s important to know that this can present some passengers with mild discomfort.

Salzburg airport sits at 430m, while Lech sits at an altitude of 1445m. Nausea, headaches and dizziness can be symptoms of the change in air pressure. Young children are often those at risk to feel especially unwell.

When you combine such air pressure change with steep, serpentine roads, the journey can be difficult for some people. If needed, ask your driver to lower the temperature in the vehicle to help you feel more comfortable.
