This resort is located in Belledonne Mountain Range, it hosted six alpine skiing events in 1968 Olympics and has been popular resort ever since. There are 35 pistes (77km) – 15 red, 15 blue, 6 black and 8 green. Ski area of Chamrousse is divided in two parts – for beginners and intermediate guests and those who have advanced skills (off-piste skiing is available here). Orientation of pistes ensures boarding and skiing straight down to resort. Chamrousse is friendly to snowboarders – there is a snowpark and wide selection of freeride options. Ski schools are available here. If you enjoy French alpine sports enthusiast’s company – this resort is for you. City of Grenoble is just 1 hour away. In general this is pretty calm resort, although those seeking a drink or two will find something enjoyable in between 25 bars and restaurants. There are plenty of activites aside from skiing and boarding – snowshoeing, paragliding, dog sledging, snowmobile riding, archery, snow mountain biking.
