Ski Resort Location

Les Deux Alpes is located in a wide saddle (1650 meters above sea level) at the foot of Mount Piet Moutet (2338 m), just 75 km from Grenoble airport. The resort was formed in 1960 after the confluence of the mountain villages of L'Alp de Venosque and L'Alpe de Mont-de-Lance, lying at the foot of one of Europe's largest glaciers. And from the north, just 1.5 km from the village, the slopes rest against the picturesque Lake Shambon, from which it is already within easy reach of the Alpe D'Huez routes (only 3 km in a straight line).

Les Deux Alpes is just one major ski resort located at the foot of the glacier, thanks to which it is possible to ski at the resort throughout the year, even in summer: 11 km of tracks are prepared on the glacier of Mont-de-Lans. Through the upper ridge of the glacier, you can move to La Grave - the most famous area for extreme skiers.

There are no direct train connections to the resort itself. If you’re travelling by train, the Jarrie-Vizille is the closest station to Les Deux Alpes, from which transfers can be arranged.
