The village Monchavin is located next to the famous Vanoise Express cable car, the longest in the Old World.

The ski resort Montchavin is a part of the La Plagne ski area with access to 225km of downhill skiing, with 128 individual pistes, served by 109 ski lifts.

In addition to the skiing in Montchavin-Les Coches itself, you are welcome to ski or snowboard in the other La Plagne ski resorts of Aime La Plagne, Belle Plagne, Champagny en Vanoise, Plagne 1800, Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne Centre, Plagne Montalbert, Plagne Soleil and Plagne Villages. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding are assured throughout the season.

Family Friendly/Kids

This small resort is best suited for families with children and couples who want privacy. However, noisy companies here will not get bored also - they will find several bars, a nightclub and many kinds of outdoor activities. The resort has four ski schools, the most famous are ESF and Evolution. Students are accepted at the Ecole de Ski Francais of Montchavin Les Coches from the age of three.

In Montchavin there are snow parks, halfpipe, ice rink. There are cross-country skiing tracks. Guests of the resort are offered to ride dog sledges or sleighs. Every year in February Montchavin become a place of the festival of ice and snow figures. Throughout the year, guests are invited to meet with farmers and tasting local dishes and cheeses.

As Montchavin is a part of the La Plagne ski area (units 10 resorts) and the larger Paradiski region, guests can purchase a ski pass of any of these zones and enjoy all the opportunities and entertainments provided there.
