Courchevel ski resort in the French Alps is synonymous with luxury. Courchevel is nestled in the heart of the Tarantaise Valley. It’s part of Les Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world. Consisting of 6 villages, the resort has something for everyone. All 6 villages are linked by ski lifts or free shuttles, making it a unique ski-in, ski-out resort, all situated along a picturesque road that winds through Alpine forest and breathtaking panoramic views.
And it all of that wasn’t enough, the Olympe gondola lift located in the village of Brides-Les-Bains at the foot of the Three Valleys offers you access to some of the other ski resorts, including Val Thorens, Meribel, Les Menuires and La Tania.
Skiing in Courchevel
Wherever you choose to base yourself, you’ll be sure to ski on immaculately groomed slopes with perfect snow cover. The ski area offers a variety of slopes for all abilities, from gentle slopes for beginners to more technical runs for experienced and expert skiers.
Les Trois Vallées offers 600km of high altitude and snow-sure slopes. With the majority of slopes at an altitude of 1800m or higher, with a gondola in Courvchevel itself that takes you up to ‘La Vizelle’ at 2695m. Courchevel itself boasts an impressive 150km of piste, and 54 lifts servicing 108 individual slopes. With 20 gentle green slopes, 39 picturesque blue, 39 challenging red and 11 thrilling black slopes, there’s something for everyone, whatever your level.
Things to do in Courchevel
Whether you’re after adrenaline, relaxation, keeping the family amused or nature, there’s something for everyone in Courchevel.
Take on the thrills of the Moriond Luge, the 3km toboggan run that provides thrills and spills aplenty as you take on twisting corners, underground tunnels, high-speed straights and snaking zig-zags. Tuesdays and Thursdays offer the added bonus of a floodlit descent.
Continue with unique experiences and the chance to build your own igloo. Learn insider secrets and fascinating tales from an expert builder all while constructing your own ice palace in the heart of the Tarentaise forest.
Fancy checking out a different view? Paragliding or hot air balloons offer a unique view of the valley below, and you’re sure to catch a glimpse of Mont Blanc. If it’s power you’re after, snowmobiling might hit the spot. Cruise through the mountains as the sun sets. Once the lifts close, you’ll have the slopes to yourself.
For something a little more relaxing, head for the tranquil Aquamotion spa. Alternatively, the indoor and outdoor pools complete with slides, diving pools and a wild river, not to mention indoor surfing, are perfect for thrillseekers.
