If you’re looking for a Lyon to Tignes transfer, you’re in the right place.
Alps2Alps operate an affordable, door to door service to and from this major ski resort. If you’re planning a holiday this season, we can help you make the most of the slopes!
Before you embark on your journey, here’s a closer look at all the travel information you need to know.
Your transfer to Tignes will usually take between 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours!
Bear in mind that journey times can differ widely depending on when you’re travelling. Expect to encounter delays during heavy traffic or poor weather conditions.
For shorter transfer times, try avoiding the busiest periods, such as school holidays or weekends. If possible, go midweek.
You’ll not only enjoy quieter roads, but also quieter slopes - it’s a win-win!
Avoid public transport if you’re looking to maximise your time on the slopes. A bus from Lyon, for example, will take much longer due to waiting around and queuing.
We always ensure to apply any discounts we can when working out the price of your transfer, which means your quote won’t ever be increased - only reduced!
We don’t have fixed prices, instead, we calculate our costs using our transparent pricing structure. We apply a standard tariff and then take into account your individual circumstances.
This includes the number of people travelling, the date and any additional charges, such as road tolls.
The French Alps are a hugely popular skiing destination, and have been for many years. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t find a discount if you’re looking to save money.
For the cheapest ski transfers, book midweek if possible. You can save up to 60% compared to the weekend.
If you have any questions about your transfer, you might find them answered below.
Alps2Alps have a low-cost ski rental store that offers low-cost, professional equipment. Some more good news - kids’ ski hire is completely free with any full paying adult.
You can easily book this along with your transfer.
If you want to stop at any stage of the journey to stretch your legs and have a cup of tea or coffee, we will happily accommodate this.
There are several supermarkets en-route, where you can pick up snacks and any other holiday essentials! You may find that products bought on the way to Tignes are cheaper than those found in the resort itself.
Download our Alps2Alps app to track your driver’s live location and contact them directly. You’ll receive a notification when they’re ready and waiting for you at the airport.
Lyon isn’t your only option when travelling to Tignes. There are many options available to you, and Alps2Alps will happily pick you up from a train station, such as Bourg Saint Maurice, for example.
It always helps to look at other route options, should you need to make any changes to your booking. Geneva to Tignes is a hugely popular choice with keen skiers - and it’s likely you’ll find a greater choice of airlines flying to and from this airport.
The standard route will take you via A43 (E70) motorway to Albertville, via Chambery, and then along national route N90 to Bourg St Maurice.
It will continue on Bourg St Maurice before climbing up the D902 and D87A to Tignes.
Simply inform us of your requirements when you book, or call us to let us know. We can provide a range of essential items, such as booster seats, should you need to.
All of our drivers are English-speaking, so don’t hesitate to ask if you need something. We can lower the temperature, adjust your seat or pull over if you’re feeling unwell.
Travelling to high altitudes can affect some passengers, so don’t suffer in silence!
Lyon Airport is situated 26 km away from the city centre.
Tip: if you’re flying with skis, always check beforehand to see how much you’ll be charged.
Ensure you’ve researched Lyon Airport and what airlines fly there before you travel.
