Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The standard route from Innsbruck to Serfaus (93,9 km) will usually take you via route A12. Through Fürstenweg and Kranebitter Allee/B171, take the route  A12/E533/E60 (Völs). Continue on the A12/E60 to your destination (Fließ). Continue driving on Reschen Street. Head for Ladiser Landesstraße and Serfauser Landesstraße towards Dorfbahnstraße (Serfaus). Always ask the driver about the best possible route.

 

What to Do En-Route

You don’t have to go right to your ski destination. If you wish to stop at any stage of the trip to stretch your legs or breathe a fresh air, we will happily accommodate this.

There are many supermarkets on your way to Serfaus. You can buy some snacks for the journey or necessary ski holiday essentials. Sometimes products bought on the way to ski resort can be cheaper compering to those found in the resort stores.

Serfaus is located right at the top of the Tyrol, at the foot of the Samnaun mountain chain. You can enjoy great panoramic views during your trip. Take your camera in order not to miss fantastic pictures!

 

Journey Altitude

It’s important to know that your journey from Innsbruck to Serfaus ski resort will take you to a very high altitude. This can present its own potential complications.

Innsbruck airport sits at 580m, while Serfaus sits at an altitude of 1427m. This journey can present some passengers with mild discomfort. Nausea, headaches and dizziness can be symptoms of the change in air pressure. Young children are the ones at risk group to feel unwell.

When you combine this air pressure change with steep, serpentine roads, the journey can be difficult for some. If needed, ask your driver to lower the temperature in the vehicle to help you feel more comfortable.

When feeling especially unwell, the picturesque Samnium and Otzal mountains can be the right medicine for you.

In the skiing region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, the three villages are located in one of the sunniest spot in the Tyrol and enjoy the longest hours of sunshine in the whole of Austria. Your ski pass will give you access to 214km of ski runs, serviced by 68 ski lifts, a freeride area for snowboarders, slopes for carvers and two race tracks for those who would like to compete. From Serfaus, you can ski to the other villages of Fiss and Ladis.
