On average, a transfer from Milan to Gressoney will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes depending on time, traffic and road conditions. Route Details, Issues & Alternatives

The shortest route from Milan to Gressoney (158km), will usually take you via routes A4/E64 and E25. Take Strada Statale 336. Take the right lane and take the exit towards Aeroporto Cargo City / Torino/Milano / SR11 / Novara. By Strada Statale 336, A4/E64 and E25 head towards Strada Statale 26 della Valle d'aosta (Pont-Saint-Martin). From E25 take the Pont Saint Martin exit. Head towards SR44 (Gressoney-Saint-Jean). Always ask the driver about the best possible route. If there is bad weather or snow, just plan extra time for your transfer.

 

What to Do En-Route

You don’t have to go straight to your ski resort. Ask your driver for a short stop (up to 10 minutes) - if you wish to stop at any stage of the trip to stretch your legs or breathe a fresh air, we will happily accommodate this.

There are many supermarkets on your way to Gressoney. You can buy some snacks for the journey or necessary ski holiday essentials before you get to the ski resort. Sometimes products bought on the way to ski resort can be cheaper comparing to those found in the resort stores. All shop visits should be pre-booked with Customer Support prior your arrival.

Gressoney-La-Trinité sits at the foot of Monte Rosa, massif, between the Aosta Valley and Piemonte. The journey is very beautiful because of the incredible mountain views during your trip. Prepare your camera in advance in order not to miss fantastic pictures!

 

Journey Altitude

It’s important to know that your journey from Milan to Gressoney ski resort will take you to a very high altitude. This can present its own potential complications and risks.

Milan airport sits at 235m, while Gressoney sits at an altitude of 1640m. This journey can present some passengers with mild discomfort. Nausea, headaches and dizziness can be symptoms of the change in air pressure. Young children are the ones especially prone to feeling unwell.

When you combine such air pressure change with steep, serpentine roads, the journey sometimes can be difficult. If necessary, ask your driver to lower the temperature in the vehicle to help you feel more comfortable.

When feeling especially unwell, the stunning views of the mountains during your transfer can be the perfect medicine for you.

 

Gressoney Ski Resort

The Gressoney valley is made up of two authentic Italian villages: Gressoney St.Jean and Gressoney La Trinite. The ski resort is located at the centre of the fantastic Monterosa ‘three valleys’ ski circuit. Both Gressoney-La-Trinité and Gressoney-Saint-Jean has had a significant history and boasts the typical Walser houses. Both villages have good access to the slopes and are the ideal starting points to Champoluc and Alagna. The Gressoney ski area is made up of picturesque woodland runs, some fantastic off-piste areas, serious black runs and a wide range of reds on both sides of the valley.

Gressoney la Trinité is part of the Monterosa ski area with access to 213km of downhill skiing, with 64 individual pistes, served by 52 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Gressoney la Trinité itself (50km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Monterosa ski resorts of Alagna Valsesia, Brusson, Champoluc, Antagnod, Champorcher and Gressoney Saint Jean.
